Speaking of a generation gap, look who's claiming what!!
Way before Columbus sailed in 1492 ...even before Jesus was born, way back to even before the time of those great philosophers ...before Aristotle and before Plato, even before Socrates.
By the way, all of the aforementioned philosophers, including also Pythagoras ...believed the earth to be spherical.
But, there was also a group of 'thinkers', even before that ...who held beliefs that are similar to that which is widely promoted today.
Anaximander claimed that living creatures were first formed in the "wet" when acted on by the sun. Anaximenes, a pupil of Anaximander, thought that air was the element that imparted life, motion and thought, and speculated that there was a primordial terrestrial slime. Xenophanes traced the origin of man back to the transitional period between the fluid stage of the earth and the formation of land. Empedocles also accepted the spontaneous generation of life. And Anaxagoras also adopted a terrestrial slime account.
Spontaneous generation is the belief that living matter can spontaneously generate from nonliving matter. Isn't this what is being taught in our schools today? Isn't this what we call 'evolution'?
Perhaps you're tired of hearing what I have to say ...or it could be that you're just tired. You may not be Redi for what more I'm going to say because it may be Pasteur bedtime ...so perhaps try again tomorrow.
Claiming others are still promoting 'flat-earth' ideologies ...

And what have we witnessed that's been 'spawned' out of this theory of evolution, which is actually that ancient belief in spontaneous generation?
What we have is a spontaneous generation ...promoting irresponsible behavior, and the drive of spontaneous emotions.
Why?
Well, it doesn't affect everyone ...there are always good, responsible people. And I even hesitate to say good, because I don't believe so many people are not good ...more accurately, they are deceived.
If you don't believe in God, for who He is ...then what do you have? With evolution, it is the 'survival of the fittest'. What does that promote?
It doesn't promote much hope ...it promotes survival.
And there is a tendency to be a bit selfish when trying to survive. But, there is also another tendency ...that which compels people to work together compassionately.
That also is actually a principle taught in the Bible. Yet, we are also taught of a deceiver. It is not only dictatorship governments that seize power and take control through deceit. Many of you realize that it is not only big government, but would include big businesses and big banks also.
But, there is also a 'big' difference involving how we are compelled to react to that. Some say, "I'm not going to take it anymore!"
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Yes, how do we react?
Jesus made it clear that we are to focus on another kingdom.
It was also made clear whose other kingdom has greatly thrived.
Satan told Jesus he would give him "all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them," if he would fall down and worship him.
I would rather focus on the things that are eternal, and 'bank' on that ...as we also see that Jesus was focusing on doing the 'business' of the Father. So, I do not concern myself so much with what the banks and businesses are doing ...nor the governments of the world. But, though I may favor devolution in government, I think it wise to surrender to the higher authority when speaking of God, and pray we do not depart from those blessings bestowed upon us.
